    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Being one of their biggest financial investments people usually have a number of questions prior to coming to a conclusion , below are a few of the most common ones…

Unless you are a trained contractor, most roofing tasks should not be carried out yourself. Also always remember that a large number of manufacturers of products used in the roof repair won’t warranty those items unless a certified professional carries out the task. The other thing to bear in mind is that working on a roof can be very risky, so is it really worth endangering your health for you to save money?

It would be great if we could give you a straight forward answer to this question! However, there actually is no one answer that fits all for every question like that. There are several different products available and each has its own advantages and disadvantages. To know which is the best roof for you, you should have a contractor come and check out your roof and they can make recommendations according to what they discover, your roof design, the environment you reside in and, of course, your budget.

It definitely depends upon the kind of roof and exactly what surveys are required. Also, remember that we’re working outside in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we cannot work on particular days then this will certainly add time to the job. A smaller home may take around a week or so, while more substantial industrial jobs may be anything from several weeks to a few months. Just make sure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.

Since your roof is consistently subjected to the outside elements, it means your roof is going to diminish over time. The pace at which it breaks down will depend on a variety of variables. Those include; the grade of the initial components that were used along with the workmanship, the amount of abuse it has to take from the weather, how well the roof is preserved and the type of roof. Most roofing contractors will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but obviously that can never be guaranteed because of the above issues. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You shouldn’t ever pressure-wash your roof, as you take the risk of eliminating any protective materials that have been included to provide shielding from the weather. Aside from that, you should try to stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaners as they can easily also lower the life of your roof. When you speak with your roof cleaning specialist, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. This will remove the unpleasant algae and yellowing without ruining the tile or shingles.

    More About Tarpon Springs

Tarpon Springs is a city in Pinellas County, Florida, United States. The population was 23,484 at the 2010 census.[6] Tarpon Springs has the highest percentage of Greek Americans of any city in the US.[7] Downtown Tarpon Springs has long been a focal point and is undergoing beautification.[8]

The region, with a series of bayous feeding into the Gulf of Mexico, was first settled by white and black farmers and fishermen[9] around 1876. Some of the newly arrived visitors spotted tarpon jumping out of the waters and so named the location Tarpon Springs. The name is said to have originated with a remark of Mrs. Ormond Boyer, an early settler from South Carolina, and who, while standing on the shore of the Bayou and seeing fish leaping exclaimed, “See the tarpon spring!’ However, for the most part , the fish seen splashing here were mullet rather than tarpon. In 1882, Hamilton Disston, who in the previous year had purchased the land where the city of Tarpon Springs now stands, ordered the creation of a town plan for the future city.[1] On February 12, 1887, Tarpon Springs became the first incorporated city in what is now Pinellas County.[1] Less than a year later on January 13, 1888, the Orange Belt Railway, the first railroad line to be built in what is now Pinellas County, arrived in the city.[10] During this time the area was developed as a wintering spot for wealthy northerners.

Unfortunately, roofing materials don’t last forever. All roofs need to be repaired or replaced at some time or some other. Unless there is the right tools and experience to accomplish the work yourself, that frequently means hiring a professional roofing contractor.

The importance of hiring the right company can’t be overstated. Most roofing projects are usually expensive. You have to know that you will be investing your money wisely and this the finished roof will last for a long time into the future. Look at these tips about how to locate a reliable roofer for your own home:

    1. Utilize a local company. Before getting a contractor, make sure that these people have a physical address with your city or county. Local contractors are more likely to be familiar with the codes and building requirements in the area. Also, they are more unlikely in order to scam you from your money since they need to maintain their reputation in your community.

    2. Verify how the contractor is licensed and insured. Reputable contractors always make time to get licensed. You should be able to look up licensing information online from the website of the city or state. Check to be sure that the contractor’s license applies and that it must be current prior to getting them. Additionally, ask the contractor to supply evidence of liability insurance and worker’s compensation insurance before they start work.

    3. Solicit competing quotes. Don’t create the mistake of hiring the initial company that you contact. Instead, get in touch with at least a few different contractors in your neighborhood to get quotes to the roofing project. Ask each contractor to provide you with an itemized quote to enable you to see specifically where your hard earned dollars goes. Ideally, they must send a representative to the property to look at the roof in person before offering you an estimate. Doing this, the estimate they supply is going to be much more accurate.

    4. Make sure the clients are trustworthy by reading through reviews from the past clients. Consider checking with groups just like the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to verify that no major complaints happen to be filed against them.

    5. Get everything in writing. Don’t you need to take a contractor at their word. Instead, inquire further to offer you a written contract. Be sure both you together with the contractor sign the agreement. Keep a copy for your self in case any problems or disputes arise. A signed contract reduces the risk of misunderstandings and gives you legal protection in the event the contractor fails to follow along with through on his or her promises.

Deciding on a reliable roofer for your residence is important. Your homes roof is probably the most essential components of your house. Employing a professional roofing contractor that has an incredible reputation is the simplest way to ensure that the project goes as planned.
