    FAQs

As one of their biggest expenditures people usually have a number of questions prior to makingany decisions , below are some of the more common ones…

Unless you are a trained contractor, the majority of roofing tasks shouldn’t be undertaken yourself. In addition keep in mind that almost all manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof will not warranty those products unless a licensed roofing contractor carries out the job. The other thing to bear in mind is that working on a roof can be very dangerous, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health in order to save money?

It would be great if we could give you a simple answer to that question! However, there really is no single answer fits all for each question like that. There are so many unique products readily available and each will have its own benefits and faults. To determine which is the best roof for your home, you really should have a contractor come and check out your roof and they can make suggestions based on what they observe, your roof design, the environment you live in and, of course, your budget.

It actually depends upon the type of roof and what inspections are needed. Also, keep in mind that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we cannot work on a number of days then this will definitely add more time to the job. A small home may take about a week or so, whereas more substantial commercial projects may be anything from several weeks to a few months. Just see to it your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you should be fine.

Given that your roof is constantly subjected to the weather, it means your roof is will degrade over time. The speed at which it breaks down will be dependent on a variety of factors. These include; the grade of the original components that were used along with the workmanship, the amount of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is taken care of and the style of the roof. Most roofing professionals will quote around 20 years for a well-built and properly maintained roof, but that can never be promised because of the above variables. Our advice is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should never pressure-wash your roof, as you run the risk of removing any protective minerals that have been included to give shielding from the weather. Also, you really should stay clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaning products as they can easily also lower the life of your roof. When you converse with your roof cleaning specialist, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will remove the unattractive algae and staining without destroying the tile or shingles.

    More About Tarpon Springs

Tarpon Springs is a city in Pinellas County, Florida, United States. The population was 23,484 at the 2010 census.[6] Tarpon Springs has the highest percentage of Greek Americans of any city in the US.[7] Downtown Tarpon Springs has long been a focal point and is undergoing beautification.[8]

The region, with a series of bayous feeding into the Gulf of Mexico, was first settled by white and black farmers and fishermen[9] around 1876. Some of the newly arrived visitors spotted tarpon jumping out of the waters and so named the location Tarpon Springs. The name is said to have originated with a remark of Mrs. Ormond Boyer, an early settler from South Carolina, and who, while standing on the shore of the Bayou and seeing fish leaping exclaimed, “See the tarpon spring!’ However, for the most part , the fish seen splashing here were mullet rather than tarpon. In 1882, Hamilton Disston, who in the previous year had purchased the land where the city of Tarpon Springs now stands, ordered the creation of a town plan for the future city.[1] On February 12, 1887, Tarpon Springs became the first incorporated city in what is now Pinellas County.[1] Less than a year later on January 13, 1888, the Orange Belt Railway, the first railroad line to be built in what is now Pinellas County, arrived in the city.[10] During this time the area was developed as a wintering spot for wealthy northerners.

    1. Employ a local company. Before getting a contractor, ensure that they have a physical address with your city or county. Local contractors are more likely to be aware of the codes and building requirements in the area. Also, they are not as likely to try and scam you out of your money since they should maintain their reputation in your neighborhood.

    2. Verify the contractor is licensed and insured. Reputable contractors always take time to get licensed. You will be able to search for licensing information online from the website of your own city or state. Check to make sure that the contractor’s license applies and that it is current before getting them. Additionally, ask the contractor to provide proof of liability insurance and worker’s compensation insurance before they begin work.

    3. Solicit competing quotes. Don’t make the mistake of hiring the initial company that you just contact. Instead, get in touch with no less than some different contractors in your neighborhood to acquire quotes for the roofing project. Ask each contractor to provide you with an itemized quote to enable you to see just where your hard earned dollars is headed. Ideally, they should send an agent to the property to examine your roof personally before supplying you with an estimate. Like that, the estimate they supply will be considerably more accurate.

    4. Make sure the clients are trustworthy by reading through reviews from their past clients. Consider checking with groups like the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to confirm that no major complaints are already filed against them.

    5. Get all things in writing. Don’t you need to take a contractor at their word. Instead, question them to present you with a written contract. Make sure both you and the contractor sign the agreement. Keep a copy yourself in the event any problems or disputes arise. A signed contract reduces the potential risk of misunderstandings and offers you legal protection in the event the contractor fails to adhere to through on their promises.
